Booking with planholidays
How does booking actually work?
You browse the site, find a trip you like, and submit a booking request - it's a short form, no payment online. Within 24 hours one of our UK specialists will call you to confirm availability, walk through the trip, answer questions and take payment over the phone. Then you get an email with everything in writing.
Why don't you take payment online?
Two reasons. First, holiday prices move in real time as flights and hotel inventory change - a human specialist can secure you the right price on the day, instead of a website quoting one number and surprising you with another at checkout. Second, talking to a real person means we catch the details that matter (passport names, accessibility, occasion) before money changes hands.
Is my booking confirmed when I submit the form?
Not yet. Submitting the form is a request - we hold the details and call you back to confirm. Your booking is only confirmed once you've spoken to a specialist, agreed the final all-in price, and paid your deposit by phone.
What if I want to call you instead?
Please do - we love it. Free from any UK phone: 0800 123 4567, 8am-10pm every day. Or email bookings@planholidays.co.uk.
Payment
How do I pay?
By debit or credit card over the phone with your specialist. We take all major cards. Payment is processed via a PCI-compliant terminal - your card details aren't stored in our systems.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Pay a low deposit (typically 15% of the total) at booking, then spread the rest across monthly direct debits up to 8 weeks before you fly. No interest, no fees, no credit check - we're a holiday operator, not a lender.
Are there any booking fees?
No. GBP0 booking fees, GBP0 admin fees. The all-in price you see is what you pay.
What's included in the price?
Return flights from your nearest UK airport, 23kg checked baggage per adult, private airport transfers both ways, your accommodation for the full stay, and 24/7 in-resort support. We'll spell it out trip-by-trip when we call you.
Protection & peace of mind
Are my money and holiday financially protected?
Yes. Package holidays booked with us include financial protection arrangements. Your money is handled securely and your booking is confirmed in writing once payment is taken.
What happens if a supplier (airline or hotel) goes bust?
Because you've booked a protected package with us rather than direct, we re-protect your trip - sourcing alternative inventory at no extra cost, or refunding in full if the trip can't go ahead.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes - travel insurance is your responsibility and we strongly recommend taking out a policy as soon as you book. Some credit cards include basic cover; read the exclusions carefully.
Changes & cancellations
Can I change the dates after booking?
Free amendments up to 8 weeks before departure (subject to airline/hotel availability - sometimes there's a price difference). Closer to departure, change fees may apply depending on the supplier terms - your specialist will be transparent about this when you book.
What's your cancellation policy?
Your deposit is non-refundable, but everything paid beyond that is refundable up to 8 weeks before departure. Inside 8 weeks, cancellation fees scale up. The exact terms are confirmed in writing at booking.
Can I add an extra night or upgrade my room later?
Almost always yes. Just call us and we'll arrange it - many upgrades are cheaper added in advance than at the resort.
Practical questions
Which UK airports can I fly from?
We can build a package from any major UK airport with international flights - Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Stansted, Luton, Bristol and more. Tell us your preference when we call.
Do you do family holidays / honeymoons / accessible holidays?
All of the above, and more. Use our vibe search to filter by what matters to you - pram-accessible, adults-only, kids' paradise, honeymoon, wellness reset, and 15+ other vibes.
How far in advance should I book?
For summer peak (July-August) and Christmas/New Year, 6-9 months ahead is sensible. For everything else, 3-6 months ahead usually gives the best price-to-choice balance. Last-minute deals (within 6 weeks of departure) can be excellent if you're flexible.
